Sunday was Jared's birthday (26!) so Friday he decided that he wanted to make his birthday cake "Ace of Cakes" style. (Just google some of their cakes, they are awesome). So Saturday when we went to the store to get the supplies Jared saw a G.I. Joe toy like the ones he had growing up, little did that G.I. Joe know what his fate would be!
When it comes to cooking/baking skills lets just say I rank around the terrible/awful level, so my friend Marissa came over to help (her bakery is going to be called "The Flour Shop" - how cute is that!). Jared picked red velvet, so red velvet it was!
Ooooo, double layer. Tricky.
Marissa has skills. So, after the cake itself was finished Jared took over the decorating. He too has skills.
Nice. But what would a bloody dismembered army guy cake be without...
Camo of course. Needless to say if we have boys I think this is a preview of many cakes to come. Happy Birthday Love!!
