Just got back from our 12 week appointment and we got to hear the little heartbeat, it was so surreal and crazy! I'm not showing yet so it's still weird to think that there's an actual baby human in there, and that it has little hands, and eyelashes. So weird!
I thought it was going to be an ultrasound appointment where we'd actually get to SEE the little thing but I was distraught to find out we don't get another one until week 20 - WHAT THE!? Not fair, I think they should do an ultrasound at EVERY appointment. Pregnant ladies want to see their little mutants.
I also was a little stunned when the nurse told me I should be drinking 150 ounces of water a day - WHAT THE!? No, that's not a typo - 150. As in almost three times what a normal person should consume (but really, who does?). I guess I'll be getting a lot of exercise walking from my office to the bathroom.
Another concerning development (excuse the pun) are my out of control bazoombies. (please don't be reading this dad) Why did no one tell me that your bra is the first thing you grow out of!? I thought that came later! And I'm pretty sure my sisters are getting a huge kick out of it - they always used to justify their lack of bazoombies by telling me "Just wait until you get pregnant!" Yea, yea, you win, whatever. Gotta love having three sisters.

Oh...just wait. Soon you'll have to lift them when you get out of the shower to dry underneath them!
Yeah I can't believe I just wrote that.
But really...it's kind of gross.
:)
That's so funny Em! This is the kind of stuff they need to put in the books. We should write one called "What to REALLY expect when you're expecting."
Hahahaha - I'm sure Jared is complaining about that, eh? And the boobie/towel thing is totally true! Thanks for being bold enough to say it, Em!
ooh, you need to read The Girlfriends guide to pregnancy, it's funny and has all the good tidbits in there!
SOOOO many strange things are going to start happening to your body...stuff that NO ONE ever tells you! Just wait until the day when your "milk comes in." What a joy that is...NOT!!!! It hurts worse than labor!!! And the after-birth pains! I can still feel it when I think about it!!!! But yes, it is ALL worth it!
Oh just wait...they get even BIGGER! So glad the appointment went well, but I know the disappointment in not seeing the Bambino every time!!
Just think, a thousand years ago pregnant knockers were still huge and they had no bra to hold 'em up!
Lucky you!!
Good point Linds!! I am very thankful for my Victoria Secret.
glad everything is going well!! it's so amazing to hear the heartbeat--and surreal that there is an actual little person in there! that is a bummer that you don't get to have an ultrasound everytime! yep--those boobies get quite big-- and fast--and you all ready had a good rack before--so watch out sister!
Crackin' me up in a totally horrified way. Yet also enjoying girls talking about real things. Remind me to tell you my Monistat anecdote. ;)
I'm totally excited for our photoshoot Tyan!
See, I'm looking forward to my pregnant lady bazoombies cuz I don't have any regular lady bazoombies.
well friend, let's just sum it all up. or should i say, jenny mccarthy did it for me. get her book, belly laughs: the naked truth about pregnancy and childbirth. It tells you EVERYTHING that everyone wont tell you. Let me Know after you read it. You will thank me. ;)
Ok, I never read any of these books, but I will for the next one.
My one tidbit that no one told me...I had nice perky ones, then they got larger, then the milk came in, PAIN-FULL, even larger. THEN, breastfed for 13 months..nothing left but shrivled up utters..just being honest friends. Nobody told me there would be nothing left!! However, worth it!
